Adult-managed accounts

Account holders must be 18 or older. Keep sign-in details private and supervise children. Parent-managed family profiles and companion links do not create independent child social accounts. Hosts and visitors use the same account; hosting is optional.

Home listings

A home listing costs $2.99 AUD for one Halloween season. It is a one-time payment, not a subscription. List only an Australian home you have permission to publish. Public listings show an approximate area. Exact addresses are revealed to verified adult accounts and their private route companions only during your local opening hours on 31 October. Keep visiting times and treat information accurate. Hide the listing when you are no longer welcoming visitors.

A friendly neighbourhood

Do not post harassment, threats, hateful or sexual content, private information, misleading listings, or photos without permission. Obtain parent or guardian permission for photos of children. Report unsafe or inappropriate content through the listing or post. The administrator may hide reported content.

Stay street-smart

SpookSpot does not inspect homes, supervise visits or verify treat ingredients. Adults are responsible for children in their care. Check packaging and allergies with the host, respect closing times, stay on public paths, and use safe crossings. Google walking directions may omit footpaths or pedestrian paths; use your judgement and check local conditions. Call 000 in an emergency.

Payments and consumer rights

Stripe processes the listing fee. A payment return page alone does not publish a listing; SpookSpot waits for confirmation from Stripe. Refunded or disputed payments hide the associated listing. Nothing here excludes rights that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. Use the listing’s reporting function to request a review of a listing problem.

Voting

Each adult and parent-managed family participant has one Best Home vote per season. A new home vote changes the previous choice. Joining or leaving a group does not create more votes. You cannot vote for your own household’s home. Costume photos can be liked repeatedly by adult users in the same account suburb, including their own photos. The highest total likes wins Best Costume under the published competition rules. Family profiles must represent real members of your household.
